we made it through Irene!

Although there was a sheet of water moving over the whole field, everything seems to be fine with the exception of a few toppled sunflowers.  I was very happy that the swan balls stayed upright as I know you are all anticipating them, and, I have a beautiful crop of ornamental peppers (that I am very proud of) that are so top heavy I was worried they would all crash, but, they held on.  You’ll see them in a few weeks.  We didn’t even lose power, which happens around here if a chipmunk sneezes.  So, despite 7″ of rain, all is well here on the farm.
